LIGHT+BUILDING 2026

Innovation showcased in Frankfurt

Simes presents itself at Light + Building 2026 with a clear goal: to describe the evolving role of light in contemporary space. No longer just a technical element, but an infrastructure capable of integrating functions, adapting to different contexts, and responding to the growing complexity of urban environments.

Light + Building has long been one of the key meeting points for the lighting sector: a place where companies, designers, and professionals come together to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and outline new directions for lighting design. This year again, for Simes, it represents an essential opportunity for dialogue and growth, where new technologies and products are presented, opening up dialogue.

Multifunctionality for urban space

At Light + Building 2026, Simes presented its latest product developments, expressing an increasingly integrated approach to lighting design. Among these, Shift PRO stands out as one of the most significant systems.

Designed for contemporary urban environments, Shift PRO moves beyond the idea of the lighting fixture as a standalone element and introduces a modular, multifunctional approach, where lighting, safety, and services coexist within a single solution, able to adapt to different contexts and evolve over time.

Based on a configurable structure, the system integrates different light distributions (spot and rotosymmetric) as well as functions such as video surveillance, sound diffusion, and electric charging, transforming the pole into an active element of the urban space. Within this smart city vision, modularity becomes a tool to simplify infrastructure and improve the quality of public spaces, making them more efficient, safe, and comfortable.

Light designed to go further

Among the new products presented by Simes at Light + Building 2026, Anyway introduces a more efficient way to light pathways. Available in bollard and pole-top versions, it is designed to cover greater distances with fewer light points, thanks to an asymmetric optic developed to project light forward with precision.

Spacing can reach up to 11 meters for the bollard and up to 30 meters for the pole-top version, optimizing layout and reducing infrastructure. An approach that focuses on direction and effectiveness of light, improving visual comfort and overall efficiency.

Light that adapts to space

Among the new products presented, Field Sensor introduces a more conscious approach to light management. The bollard integrates a motion sensor that adjusts light output based on actual presence, reducing intensity or switching off when the space is not in use.

This dynamic control reduces waste and light pollution, improving visual comfort, especially at night. The system is supported by the dedicated Simes App, which allows parameters, scenarios, and light levels to be easily configured directly from a smartphone, making control simpler and more flexible.

Light that shapes atmosphere

With Air Lighting, Simes takes light beyond its traditional supports and transforms it into a suspended sign in space. An outdoor system that does more than illuminate—it creates atmosphere, redefining the way outdoor environments are experienced.

Suspended on steel cables, the light stretches between architecture and landscape, creating a continuous presence in space. The system can be configured with three or four anchoring points, using either poles or wall-mounted supports, adapting to different contexts. The lighting units – Flore ZOOM – can be adjusted and moved along the cables, allowing the lighting composition to be redefined over time and new scenarios to be created, extending living spaces outdoors and making open areas enjoyable even after sunset.

Material as the origin of light

The Bronze Collection introduces a complete range in which material and lighting performance work in an integrated way. The family includes different types—wall lights, downlights, spotlights, garden stakes, in-ground fixtures, and step lights—designed to meet different needs while maintaining formal consistency and build quality.

At the core of the collection is BRAL, a high-performance alloy of bronze and aluminum, resistant to corrosion and designed to last even in demanding environments. Dedicated optics, with recessed light sources and honeycomb louvres, ensure visual comfort and precise control of the light beam. Over time, the material evolves, developing a natural patina that makes each element unique, strengthening the relationship between light, architecture, and landscape.

A shared direction, built through dialogue

Light + Building 2026 once again proved to be a key event for Simes: an opportunity to meet and engage with lighting professionals, architects, and designers. The stand became a lively space for dialogue and exchange, where ideas and visions found common ground.

The new products presented outline a clear direction: integrated, intelligent systems oriented toward the smart city—from the modularity of Shift PRO to the dynamic light management of Field Sensor, the efficiency of Anyway, and the atmosphere created by Air Lighting, together with the material quality of the Bronze Collection. Along this path, design and quality remain central: solutions conceived to last, integrate with architecture, and improve the quality of space over time.
